Uganda Western circuit (7 days) Uganda birding tour:
Fabulous trip, packed with highlights- from boat trips through the papyrus
swamps in search of Shoebill and a chance to track the Chimps in Queen
Elizabeth with places to visit are: Mabamba, Lake Mburo National park,
Queen Elizabeth National Park. Sightings highlight: Shoebill, African
finfoot, White winged warbler.
- Day 1 Entebbe
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a welcome team will transfer you to the Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel or Golf course Apartment, depending on your time of arrival.
- Day 2 Entebbe - Mabamba
Whole day birding Entebbe and the surrounding area and evening transfer
to Kampala for overnight at Hotel Africana or Holiday Express Hotel. Expect
sported eagle awl, pied king fisher, Swamp fly catcher, Greater sand plover,
Slender billed gull, Caruthers’s cisticola, Crowned hornbill, Common
tern, Shoebill.

- Day 3 Mabamba – Lake Mburo National Park
Depart from Masaka to Lake Mburo National park birding along the way
arriving later in the afternoon for overnight at Mantana Luxury Tented
Camp or Rwanyo Camp. Expect to see; White winged warbler, lesser and greater
moorhen, rufous-naped lark, Red winged Francolin southern red bishop,
among the many other encounters.

- Day 4 Lake Mburo National Park
Wake up early in the morning for birding. Depending on the season, look
out for the brown chested plover (migrant observed from July to December
mainly September) southern ground hornbill, Red faced barbet, Narina Trogon,
Black Cuckoo shrike, Lead coloured fly catcher. Also you will see mammals
notably Zebra, Eland, Topi, Oribis and Cape Buffalos. After lunch boat
cruise will bring you close to the African fin foot, African water rail
Yellow -throated leaf love, Pied and malachite Kingfisher, spur winged
plover, and African Darter. After boat ride, dusk drive to sport the nightjar
and other nocturnal birds.

- Day 5 Lake Mburo National Park - Queen Elizabeth National Park
Arise in morning for birding before, transfering to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Lunch will be served in Mbarara town before transferring to Queen Elizabeth, while birding along the way, over night at Mweya safari lodge or Institute of Ecology. Expect to see: - White winged warbler, Martial Eagle, African skimmer, verreaux’s eagle owl, Red Faced Barbet, Southern Ground Hornbill, and many others.

- Day 6 Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will spend the whole day birding in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
View birds like Lesser Flamingo (in the month of December and January),
Grey Capped Warbler, Saddled-billed Storks, Woolly-necked, African Skimmer
and Red Footed Falcon, return to the Lodge for over night.

- Day 7 Queen Elizabeth National Park - Kampala
This day you will be birding on the Kazinga channel in the morning on
the launch cruise depending on the weather of the day. Expect a variety
and flock of water birds, transfer to Kampala and Airport or simply continue
with the Birding the next day.
Other attractions for this safari include BIG THREE Zebra and Eland.

Requirements
Binoculars, good walking boots, pair of trousers, hat for protection from
the sun, sun cream, insect repellent, your relevant medication, travel
insurance, field guide book on birds of East Africa by Franshawe, note
book, rain jackets and high speed films.
