Bird Watching Safari: Easter Uganda 10 days

The eastern route is not so commonly used, a trip which you need to explore and you will not miss it here on the savannah and forest areas of this trip, places that you will visit include: Mabira forest, Mt Elgon, Lake Bisina, Budongo Forest, Murchison Falls, Includes home to: Fox's weaver, Shoebil, Pel's fishing owl, Bat hawk.

 

    Day 1 Entebbe

On arrival at Entebbe international Airport, a welcome team will transfer you to the Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel or Golf Course Apartments, depending on your time of arrival.
Meal plan and accommodation: Bed and breakfast.

    Day 2 Entebbe - Mabamba

Birding in Entebbe and surrounding area, transfer to Kampala for Overnight. Expect to see; Shoebill, palmnut vulture, Grey winged cisticola, pied kingfisher, Verreux eagle owl, Common tern, Africana Hotel
Meal plan and accommodation: Bed, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 3 Mabamba – Lake Mburo

Whole day birding at the Mabira Forest and transfer to Jinja for Overnight at Annex Hotel. Look out for Nahan's francolin Olive green bull, blackand white fly catcher, white throated bee eater, White chinned prinia, Grey-headed Negro finch.
Meal plan and accommodation: Bed and breakfast

    Day 4 Lake Mburo

Early morning (this can be combined with white water rafting at Bujagali falls) birding at the Source of the Nile and Afternoon transfer to Mbale for overnight at Mbale Resort Hotel.
Meal plan and accommodation: Bed, breakfast, lunch and dinner

    Day 5 Lake Mburo – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Whole day birding around the Montane forest of Mount Elgon national park, overnight in Mbale. Expect to see; Olive pigeon, Jackson's and moorland francolin, Bar-tailed Trogon, Red-chested owlet, Red-fronted parrot, overnight in Mbale at Mbale Resort Hotel.
Meal plan and accommodation: Bed, breakfast, lunch and dinner

    Day 6 Murchison Falls National Park

Transfer for birding around Lake Bisina (home of endemic Fox's weaver), overnight in Soroti at Soroti Hotel. Expect; Fox's weaver, Black-crowed waxbill, Chin-spot batis, baglafecht Weaver.
Meal plan and accommodation: Bed, breakfast, lunch and dinner

    Day 7 Murchison Falls National Park

Transfer to Murchison falls National Park via Packwach port, birding along the way overnight in at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Meal plan and accommodation: Full board.

    Day 8 Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest National park

Early morning transfer to Kaniyo Pabidi for birding and afternoon
Continue to top of the falls birding along. Expect: chocolate backed, blue breasted, and african dwarf king fisher, Puvells Illadopsis, Wattle eye, Rofous thrush, Forest Robin, overnight at Sambiya river lodge.

    Day 9 Kibale Forest National park


Morning birding to Buligi circuit and the delta area, afternoon birding, while on boat ride to the bottom of the falls, expect to sight: Red throated, Carmine, little, and blue breasted bee eaters, Shoe bill, Denharms Bustard, Black headed plover, Ground horn bill, overnight at Paraa safari lodge on full board basis.

    Day 10 Kibale National Park – Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast depart to Entebbe airport Via Kampala.
Other attraction for this Uganda safari includes; the BIG FIVE and Chimpanzee.

Travel insurance, airport taxes, scheduled flight ticket which can be requested for, visa, drinks and any other item of personal nature or bird watching.

Requirements
Binoculars, good walking boots, pair of trousers, hat for protection from the sun, sun cream, insect repellent, your relevant medication, travel insurance, field guide book on birds of East Africa by Franshawe, note book, rain jackets and high speed films.
