Bwindi, Gorillas, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Animals and Boat Ride

Day 1:

Arrival and airport transfer to Hotel Africana or Holiday Hotel and later welcome remarks by Asyanut Managing Director depending on the time of arrival. B/B

Day 2:

An early morning drive west wards (in our 4X4 vehicles that are adopted to provide comfort and enough leg room) to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a journey that will take most of the day arriving at about noon for lunch at the White Horse Regency Hotel in Kabale Town. The forest is impenetrable and has dense growth and other mysterious and awesome vegetation. It offers plants sturdy opportunities in Africa. Gorilla trekking here is restricted and requires a permitto gain access. You will have a scenic drive through the Kigezi Highlands called “The Switzerland of Africa” arriving in the evening.  Dinner will be served after you have refreshed. You will stay overnight at Buhoma Homestead.

Day 3:

After breakfast you will receive a briefing by a ranger guide before you enter into the Gorilla Sanctuary for your encounter with the gorillas in their natural habitat.  The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but criss-crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists.  Animals found in the forest include the endangered mountain gorilla, rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest hog and many others.  The park is known for its fascinating gorillas.  The gorilla is a shy and peaceful animal and it is an unforgettable experience to watch, photograph and interact with these animals. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is a rare moving, awesome and exciting adventure. The time taken and the terrain vary according to the movements of these marvelous primates.  After along day’s adventure, you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 4:

Today is the day for another journey that will start after breakfast; you will leave the gorilla sanctuary and head for the spectacular Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP) arriving in the afternoon. QENP is found in the East African Rift Valley covering 1,978 sq  km. Found here are over 500 recorded bird species, Lions,Elephants, hippos, and Buffalos. You will stay at Jakana Safari Lodge. The journey to the QENP is scenic and an opportunity for cultural tourism as you will see the rural Ugandan life styles along the way and arrive for lunch in Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day 5:

QENP offers the typical African Safari experience as you will discover during the early morning game drive and the afternoon boat ride after your lunch these trips enable you to view animal and bird species which include: lions, elephants, buffalos, hippos, Uganda kob, Baboons, antelope and chimpanzees. Birds that may be seen on the Kazinga channel include: the shoebill, black bee-eater 11 species of king fisher and others Falcons. After these expeditions, you will return for dinner after which you can exchange the day’s experiences with the other persons in your company before retiring for the night at Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day 6:

Today marks the end of our wonderful Safari together. After breakfast you will leave the QENP for Entebbe Airport arriving in the afternoon, you will then transfer to the airport in preparation for your flight back home. Have a pleasant journey.... "Fika Salama"
