Highlights of Kampala, National Parks, Exotic Animals and the Impenetrable Forest

    Day 1: Entebbe - Kampala

Arrive at Entebbe where your guide from Asyanut Safaris will warmly welcome and transfer you to Kampala to Hotel Africana or Holiday Hotel. You will be allowed to acclimatize yourself to the Ugandan environment.

    Day 2: Kampala City

Today you will have a city tour of Kampala. This is an interesting day friend, as you will visit Kampala’s historical sites. Kampala is the capital city of Uganda, which spreads over seven hills. Some of the places to visit include, Kasubi Tombs, which are the traditional burial grounds of Buganda kings, Namirembe and Rubaga cathedrals. The Namugongo martyrs shrine (famous for the execution of Christians in 1886 by the King of Buganda), Kabaka’s lake which is a man made lake, Makerere University, the Bahai temple which is famous for its architectural design, Kibuli mosque, and the Uganda Museum, Craft Village, Kampala Taxi Park famous for its organised chaos and the Nakasero market famous for its fresh fruits. Relax, Dinner and overnight at Hotel Africana or Holiday Hotel.

    Day 3: Kampala - Jinja - Kampala

A day’s trip to Jinja, allows you to visit the source of the Nile River, where it starts it long journey to the Mediterannean Sea. You will also visit Bujagali Falls and drive past the Owen Falls dam. This day will see you rafting White water on the Nile, Bungy jumping over the Nile and all terrain adventure riding. At the end of this adventure packed day, a drive of about 1-hour brings you back to Kampala City to your hotel exhausted but pleased with yourself.

    Day 4: Kampala - Lake Bunyonyi

After your breakfast, begin panoramic trip south-word to Lake Bunyonyi through the Kigezi Highlands in the beauties of the “Switzerland of Africa” in Kabale.  The distance is about 10KM from Kabale town to Bunyonyi. The beautiful scenery of the low-lying areas will compensate the roughness of the terrain as you also experience the rural life with local terraced fields, settlements, and cultural settings.  You will stay overnight in Lake Bunyonyi Safari Resort.

    Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi

After your breakfast at about 10:00 am in the morning, you will visit the forested surroundings of Bunyonyi. You will see the local people who will be ready and happy to receive you, wave at you as you pass by. Ensure you have your camera to take some pictures. You will return to the resort for lunch then, prepare for a boat ride in the afternoon on a traditional boat around the lake where you will be able to see Otters, Sitatungas and birds like pied kingfishers and swallows. You can also enjoy a bilharzia free-swimming experience on the lake and sun bath. After this days’ gorgeous adventure you will return for dinner and an overnight at the resort.

    Day 6: Lake Bunyonyi - Bwindi Forest Park

After Lunch, leave Lake Bunyonyi to Bwindi National Park arriving in time for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Homestead or Buhoma Community Bandas. Full board.

    Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early breakfast and briefing by a ranger guide, enter the Gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The area offers a dramatic steeply forested landscape and increasingly dense vegetation criss-crossed by numerous animal trails. Mammals here include the endangered Mt. Gorillas, rare golden monkey, the Colobus monkey, buffalo and bush-buck. The thrill of observing gorillas is a moving and exciting adventure. After the long days adventure you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight rest in your lodge.

    Day 8: Bwindi Forest Park - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive out of Bwindi National Park Northwards after breakfast to Queen Elizabeth National park via Isasha sector of the climbing Lions. Enroute you will spot, if you lucky see the tree climbing lions, savanna grasslands, and Ankole cattle grazing in the meadows. You will arrive for Lunch, Dinner and overnight accommodation at Mweya Safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology.

    Day 9: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park offers a typical African Safari experience as you will discover during your early morning game drive and later the boat rides which takes place after your lunch. During both expeditions, you will be able to view the various animal and bird species.  The animals found here include: lions, elephants, buffalos, hippos, Uganda Kob, Baboons, and other antelope. Some of the birds seen on the Kazinga channel include: the shoebill, black bee-eater 11 species of kingfisher and others Falcons. In the evening you will then return to your chosen accommodation for dinner and overnight rest.

    Day 10: Queen Elizabeth - Kibale Forest National Park

Today you leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and embark on another journey, after breakfast to Kibale Forest National Park and stay at Ndali Lodge or CVK Resort, which offers good accommodation. The entire journey offers an opportunity to enjoy spectacular views of Mount Rwenzori, animals, birds. Also have a cultural tour as you will see the country side of Uganda and the little villages, small towns a long the way, you will arrive Kibale in the mid afternoon and retire to your accommodation.

    Day 11: Kibale Forest National Park

Kibale Forest national park will be an adventure packed affair as this rain forest offers a rich diversity of flora and fauna. After breakfast, you will leave for a morning search of Chimpanzees and other primates, which include the red tailed and grey cheek Mangabey and other primates.  The guide will provide detailed explanations on the primates, the fauna and flora. He will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable.  This walk is excellent for viewing birds and allows you see the primates at close quarters as you enjoy Chimpanzees drumming on tree buttresses with their hoots and screams. You will return from your chimpanzee search in the late afternoon tending towards the evening, after freshening up, you will have your dinner and recount the day’s adventure to each other over a cup of coffee before turning in for night at Ndali Lodge or CVK Resort.

    Day 12: Kibale Forest - Murchison Falls National Park

Today you will depart from Kibale forest National Park after breakfast and head northwards to Masindi ending up Murchison Falls National Park.  You will have your packed lunch along the way and dinner will be at Paraa Safari Lodge or Red Chills Camp.

    Day 13: Murchison Falls National Park

Wake up to the amazing sounds of birds in the air and animals open air, which will bring you to the realisation that you are at the mighty Murchishon Falls National Park. This experience will remain in your memory for days to come. Some of the animals you will see today include: Giraffe, elephant, lion, buffalo, crocodile and countless antelope and birds that can be seen at close range. A binocular is an added advantage.

    Day 14: Murchison Falls to Entebbe

Will involve a refreshingly drive through the cool Budongo Natural Forest in early morning hours to arrive Entebbe for lunch and later transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
